Position Overview:
EHC Construction is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional service by inspecting, diagnosing, and maintaining diesel equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, end dumps, and more. Whether working on-site or in the shop, your efforts will be essential in keeping our equipment running smoothly and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections and service on heavy machinery
  • Clean and maintain machines, removing and reinstalling parts as necessary
  • Lubricate and oil moving parts to ensure smooth performance
  • Identify and report worn, damaged, or broken parts for repair or replacement
  • Order and install replacement parts to keep equipment in top condition
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose the causes of unexpected breakdowns, repairing machines quickly and efficiently
  • Document and report work performed, including repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, parts, and equipment
  • Coordinate with management to schedule maintenance and ensure equipment readiness
  • Work closely with the equipment manager to review new products and necessary modifications
  • Implement modifications, test equipment, and make adjustments based on test results
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a Clean Driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting up more than 15 lbs, and working in various conditions
  • Field and/or shop experience preferred 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery
  • Ability to lift and carry more than 15 pounds
